Merit-based Scholarships

Lang National Scholarship: fully funded boarding scholarship for exceptional Canadian scholar-athletes (Grade 9–11) covering tuition, boarding fees, housing, meals, university counselling, health centre services and selected incidentals such as flights home. Merit-based entrance scholarships are awarded automatically to top applicants demonstrating high academic achievement, co-curricular experience or potential and strong character. Needs-based financial assistance of approximately CAD 6 million is distributed annually; applications use Apple Financial Services and FACS, with the Financial Assistance Review Committee making final award decisions.

Admissions Process

  1. 1Submit an application by logging in to or creating a UCC application account (candidate's legal name must match birth certificate or passport; only parents may create the account). Application fee is CAD 200 if submitted on or before November 1, or CAD 300 if submitted after November 1. Day student applications for 2026–27 are closed; boarding applications are open. Step 2: Pay the Initial Registration Fee (day: CAD 10,000; boarding: CAD 7,500) and first tuition instalment to complete registration. New boarding students must complete registration within 7 calendar days of an offer.

Boarding program houses approximately 86 students from Ontario, other Canadian provinces and more than 18 countries. Boarding begins in Year 8 with main entry in Years 9–11; Year 12 is not admitted. Boarders are assigned to Seaton's or Wedd's Houses. International students without a local guardian may enrol in the guardianship programme (CAD 1,500/year). Health insurance for boarders is approximately CAD 1,200/year.

House System

Upper School has 10 Houses, each with a Head and its own tie. Day students belong to Bremner's, Howard's, Jackson's, Martland's, McHugh's, Mowbray's, Orr's and Scadding's; boarders belong to Seaton's and Wedd's.

Uniform

Uniforms include a crested blazer, 2–3 grey flannel pants, 2–3 khaki/beige/tan cotton pants, gym T-shirts, UCC navy crested golf shirts, House and school ties, and a crested sweater or fleece. All uniform items can be purchased online. First-year uniform purchase estimated at CAD 750–850; annual replacement approximately CAD 300.

Food & Dining

Boarders have breakfast, lunch and dinner during the school week; weekends include brunch and dinner at designated times. When dining is closed, the milk and toast room provides light meals and the cafeteria is open during the school day.
