Admissions Process
- 1Determine eligibility and year group based on child's age on 31 December of year of entry. 2. Submit an online application centrally through ESF with a non-refundable application fee. 3. Applications from the Central Application Period (1–30 September for Year 1) are assigned a random number within priority groups; shortlisted applicants may be invited for interview or assessment. 4. Successful families receive an offer and must pay a refundable deposit (one month's tuition) and a non-refundable capital levy within 7–14 days to confirm the place. 5. Students enrolled at Glenealy by 1 December of Year 6 are guaranteed a Year 7 place at Island School within ESF.
Admissions Details
For applications received after the central window, Glenealy operates a waiting-list system managed by ESF. Applicants are ranked by priority category (children of ESF staff, siblings, those attending ESF Kindergartens) and by date of application. During the central period, ranking is by priority category then random number. Families on the waiting list remain active each academic year and are contacted if a place becomes available. No additional waiting-list fee is charged.
School Day
School starts at 8:30 am (with staff on duty from 8:15 am) and concludes with typical dismissal at 2:55 pm. There are two snack breaks during the day, and specialist lessons such as PE and Music occur twice weekly.
Student Life
The school uses a house system with four houses: Bowen (Yellow), Kennedy (Red), Caine (Green), and Robinson (Blue). House Leaders organise events that promote teamwork and school spirit, and Student Ambassadors help connect new students and families.
Uniforms must be purchased through School Uniform HK. General uniform: shirt or blouse, shorts/skorts or trousers, socks, black school shoes, grey knit sweater or fleece, plus a sun hat.
