Admissions Process

  1. 1Application submission: Families complete the application form and submit it by post, email, or in person with prior school reports and teacher recommendations. 2. Assessment and review: The school considers school reports, teacher comments, and international English proficiency assessments; MAP testing may be used to assess literacy, numeracy, and science skills. 3. Interviews: Applicants may be invited for an interview with the Principal or Head of Elementary depending on year group. 4. Priority considerations: Priority may be given to siblings of current students and certain Early Learning Centre categories if demand exceeds places. 5. Decision and enrolment: Decisions communicated after review; successful applicants complete enrolment and payment of tuition. Student Life

House System

Three-house system: Jerusalem, Haifa and Tel-Aviv. House Captains and Vice Captains lead the houses, and Inter-House sports and academic events promote healthy competition.

Uniform

Uniform is required. On Blazer days (Fridays and formal days), blazer, shirt and tie must be worn. On other days, the polo shirt may substitute the blazer, formal shirt and tie if directed. The kippah is an integral part of the uniform and must be worn by Jewish male students at all times. Uniform is available from Aston Wilson Ltd in Kowloon.

Food & Dining

Food options follow kosher dietary laws across Carmel School. The Kashrut policy requires meat and dairy not to be mixed and to be prepared according to kosher rules; Kosher symbols indicate approved products. Kosher food is available through the KosherMart at the JCC for families, and Shabbat and Jewish festivals are observed.
