Admissions Process
- 1Submit an online application (up to one year in advance); one application per child. 2. Provide supporting documents: school records/transcripts for past three years, standardised test results if available, relevant assessments or evaluations, passport copy, and digital photo. 3. School references: one confidential recommendation for elementary applicants, two for secondary applicants. 4. Pay the non-refundable application fee of ¥90,000 online. 5. Admissions interview including a spoken component with the child; may include mathematics, reading, and writing assessments; EAL evaluation for non-native English speakers; online interviews available for applicants outside Kansai. 6. Admissions Committee makes recommendation to Head of School; families notified within approximately one week of interview; accepted families have one week to return Acceptance of Offer and Registration Fee is due within one month.
Admissions Details
Canadian Academy maintains a waiting pool when spaces are not available in a given grade. Applicants must complete the full application process to enter the pool. The pool remains active for the year of application and the start of the following academic year. Updated documentation may be requested over time. When a seat becomes available, all applicants in the pool are reviewed and selections made.
Boarding Life
Four on-campus boarding houses — Kiku, Take, Rokko, and Maya — are designed to feel like homes, with dorm rooms, living rooms, kitchens, a dorm entryway, and a dining hall. The Rokko Liner rail line connects students to central Kobe and the wider Kansai region. A dorm nurse and dorm parents provide residential supervision and wellbeing support.
Boarding is available for high school students (Grades 9–12), housing approximately 40 students from over 20 countries in four on-campus houses: Kiku, Take, Rokko, and Maya. Houses are designed to feel like homes with dorm rooms, living rooms, kitchens, a dorm entryway, and a dining hall. A dedicated support network including Head of Residential Life, dorm parents, and a dorm nurse cares for boarding students.
School Day
The standard school day runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:25 p.m., with an earlier 2:25 p.m. dismissal on Wednesdays. Secondary-level mornings begin with an advisory period.
Student Life
The boarding program uses four houses — Kiku, Take, Rokko, and Maya — designed to feel like a home for students rather than traditional dormitories.
A PE uniform is available for purchase through the PTA Falcon Store (Falcon Store). Additional uniform items, sports kit, and school merchandise are also available through the store.
Cezars Kitchen provides on-site dining through a cashless cafeteria system. A dining hall is on campus. Families top up student lunch accounts directly with Cezar's Kitchen. Boarding students receive all meals during term time as part of the boarding fee.

Wellbeing & Safety
Mental wellbeing is supported through a Counseling team within Student Services, addressing perseverance, emotions, goals, and conflict resolution. In boarding, the Head of Residential Life, dorm parents, and a dorm nurse monitor and coordinate student wellbeing.
Canadian Academy has a Child Safeguarding Policy reviewed annually. All staff and outside contractors in teaching or supervisory roles receive safeguarding training. A designated Child Safeguarding Team oversees implementation.
