BST uses an application pool rather than a traditional waitlist. Applicants are placed in the pool after completing all documents and obtaining a school reference. Interviews and assessments occur only when space is anticipated in the relevant year group. Admissions decisions run from early March into summer, with full year groups potentially having no clarity until May or later.
School Day
The school day follows a morning and afternoon timetable with breaks and lunch. Typical start times for BST primary are around 08:50 with end of day at approximately 15:25; exact times vary by year group.
Student Life
BST uses a four-House system: Amaterasu, Bishamon, Izanami and Tsukiyomi. Inter-House competitions take place throughout the year in various sports and arts events, including Sports Day and the House Singing competition.
BST requires students to wear the school uniform. Uniform items can be ordered online via Top of the Class with next business day delivery to either the Shibuya or Showa campus, with Friday collection. Secondary PE uniform is supplied by a separate provider at bstuniform.net.
Most BST students bring lunch from home. At the Azabudai Hills Campus, lunchtime meals can be delivered via Luca Deli (Nursery–Year 6) or Kiwi Kitchen (Year 3–Year 6). At the Showa Campus, Years 7–10 can order Kiwi Kitchen for delivery, and there is a canteen run by Showa Women's University for Years 10–13.
