Admissions Process

Admissions Details
Tanglin Trust School uses an applicant pool system rather than a traditional waitlist. Families may submit applications up to three years before the desired entry year. Each year, the relevant Head of School and Head of Admissions review all applicants in the pool. Outcomes include an offer of a place, placement into the waitpool for the applied academic year, or notification that the application was unsuccessful.
School Day
Infant and Junior School: 8:10 AM to 2:50 PM. Senior School: 8:15 AM to 4:00 PM. The schedule includes a morning break and a lunch break.
Student Life
The house system is unified across Infant, Junior and Senior Schools. There are eight houses: Claymore, Cameron, Raeburn, Alexandra, Weyhill, Wessex, Winchester and Portsdown. House members participate in school activities and House Fridays.
All students from Nursery to Sixth Form are required to wear a school uniform. The School Shop stocks the full range of school clothing including swimwear, bags, hats, sportswear and House shirts. School shoes are not sold in the shop. A limited number of second-hand uniforms are also available at the School Shop.
The school caterer designs balanced and nutritious menus with Western and Asian food. A main central Dining Room on Level 2 of the Nixon Building serves lunches and snacks; Junior lunches are pre-ordered online. Senior students use a prepaid card for hot food, sandwiches, a salad bar, healthy snacks and fruits. The Banyan Café on Level 7 of the Centenary Building serves beverages, sandwiches, cakes and snacks for parents on weekdays and Saturdays.

Wellbeing & Safety
A dedicated team of counsellors works alongside teachers to provide individualised support. The Coordinated Wellbeing Services team includes nurses, counsellors, an educational psychologist, and a school social worker offering proactive and reactive support. Safe spaces are provided within each school division. Peer mentoring, mindfulness activities, and regular workshops for students and parents are available.
A dedicated safeguarding team is trained to handle concerns and implement protective measures. All staff undergo regular training in child protection. A clear reporting system is in place for swift and appropriate responses. Parents are involved in creating a safe community through workshops and open communication. A formal Safeguarding Policy is published.
