Admissions Process
- 1Contact Admissions and gather required documents (birth certificate, passports, health records, transcripts for last three years). 2) Submit online application via OpenApply (isns.openapply.cn) with all required documents uploaded. 3) Admissions Committee reviews application against criteria including age, space, English proficiency, and prior records. 4) Pay non-refundable application fee of RMB 2,500. 5) Attend English language, mathematics, and Mandarin assessments and interview with Admissions, Head of School, or IB coordinator. 6) If offered a place, accept within the given period and pay registration/deposit fees to secure enrolment.
Admissions Details
ISNS operates rolling admissions and maintains waitlists when classes are full. Class size limits are: K3–K5 maximum 18 students; Grade 1 maximum 20; Grade 2 and above maximum 24. Waitlist placement is chronological by date of completed application. Priority is given to returning ISNS alumni, siblings of currently enrolled students, and children of ISNS employees.
School Day
Campus opens at 7:40 AM. Grades 1–5 must be in homeroom by 8:10 AM; Middle and High School students by 8:00 AM. PYP dismissal is at 3:20 PM and MYP/DP dismissal at 3:30 PM, with school buses departing around 3:45 PM. Wednesdays have earlier dismissal times. Early Years follows a more flexible timetable with snacks, lunch around 11:45 AM, and naps for some groups.
Student Life
All students must wear school uniform. K2–Grade 2 wear a maroon polo top and grey uniform shorts daily, with optional ISNS hoodies, jackets, tracksuits, and a blazer. Grades 3–12 wear a formal white shirt or maroon polo, grey plaid skirt or grey pants, and appropriate footwear. A formal dress uniform is required on identified occasions. Names must be written on all uniform items. Hats and hoods are not permitted inside buildings.
Daily lunch program provided by Sodexo. Meals cost approximately RMB 39 per meal and are paid by topping up student ID cards at the Aspretto Café or online. Early Years (K3–K5) lunches and snacks are included in tuition and served in classrooms. Primary and Secondary students eat in designated cafeterias. Families may also provide packed lunches.

Wellbeing & Safety
ISNS employs a full-time counsellor for the PYP and a full-time counsellor for MYP/DP. Services include classroom guidance lessons and individual and small-group counselling addressing issues such as friendship, anger management, and grief. Counsellors collaborate with parents and teachers and refer students to external community professionals when required.
ISNS publishes a Child Protection Policy and Code of Conduct that applies to all faculty, staff, volunteers, and others interacting with children. The policy sets expectations about maintaining physical, emotional, and sexual boundaries and details responsibilities for appropriate conduct and awareness of vulnerability when working alone with children.
