Admissions Details
HKIS operates a wait pool rather than a numbered waitlist. Applicants who meet criteria but cannot be offered a place are placed in a pool for their grade. When spaces open, the admissions office reviews all students holistically rather than strictly by application date.

Reception 1 & 2: 8:00 a.m. – 1:50 p.m. Grades 1 & 2: 8:00 a.m. – 2:50 p.m. Grades 3–5: 7:55 a.m. – 2:50 p.m. After-school activities and late buses are available. Lunch and recess are included during the day.
Student Life
The Middle School program uses a House system where each student belongs to a House and a Pastoral Care Group (PCG) to foster community and school spirit.
Uniforms are required for both Lower Primary and Upper Primary. Lower Primary: red or white polo shirts with HKIS emblem, navy shorts or skirts; closed-toe shoes; red, white, or navy socks; no dresses. Upper Primary: navy blue, red, and white palette per uniform guide. Uniforms purchased at the Dragon Shop at HKIS High School.
Students may bring lunch or order pre-purchased meals from Sodexo. In Lower Primary, lunch is eaten in the campus cafeteria; in Upper Primary, lunch is taken in the 4th-floor dining hall. Sodexo lunch orders are managed via the Sodexo Lunch App.

Wellbeing & Safety
Counselors in both Lower and Upper Primary provide individual and group counseling, supporting students with adjustment, friendship, and family transitions. They also deliver parent education programs and can be referred to by teachers, parents, or students themselves.
