Admissions Process

  1. 1Attend a school tour with the Head of School or join a weekly online information session. 2) Submit the application online through Open Apply, acknowledging the Admissions Policy and Finance and Fee Policy. 3) Verify the child meets the stated admission criteria per the Admissions Policy. 4) No formal entrance examination; an informal in-school English assessment may be required for Blue Sky, Rainbow or Sunshine applicants. 5) The Head of School makes the final admission and year-group placement decision. 6) Offers for 1st Term admission are issued from April onwards; children may join mid-year if space is available. 7) If oversubscribed, applications join one of two separate waiting lists (Japanese or international/returning students) after the application fee is paid and documentation submitted.

Waitlist Policy

Two separate waiting lists are maintained to preserve cultural balance: one for prospective Japanese students and one for prospective international/returning students. Applications to join the waiting list can be made at any time after the application fee has been paid and required documentation submitted. Offers for the first term are typically issued from April onward.

School Day

Standard arrival window is 8:45–9:00am, with optional early drop-off from 8:15am for a small fee. Little Star class offers Half Day (08:45–12:30) or Full Day (08:45–14:45). Blue Sky, Rainbow and Sunshine run Monday–Friday, Full Day 08:45–14:45. An after-hours Nursery (Daycare) is open from 2:45pm to 6:00pm.

Student Life

Uniform

All pupils are required to wear a school uniform including a Clarence School Pullover, Clarence School Vest, polo shirt, shorts (summer and winter variants), long or short socks, and a PE cap. Uniforms can be purchased through the School Shop or Tombow Uniform Shop.

Food & Dining

Lunch is not provided directly by the school; parents normally order and pay the catering provider directly. If the school purchases lunch on a parent's behalf, an additional handling fee of JPY 1,100 is charged. Morning and afternoon snacks are included in the Annual Full Package option.
