Admissions Process

  1. 1Apply via ABS online admissions portal and pay non-refundable JOD 100 administration fee. Step 2: Complete admission tests (mathematics and language proficiency in English and Arabic) and interviews. Step 3: ABS may contact previous schools for confidential references. Step 4: If demand exceeds places, applicants are placed on a waiting list in order of application date. Step 5: If a place is offered, pay non-refundable JOD 1,500 enrolment fee. Step 6: Existing families pay JOD 1,000 seat reservation fee by January 31 (deductible from tuition). Step 7: Pay tuition in full or via three post-dated cheques. Step 8: Additional 30% tuition surcharge applies if a fully modified curriculum is required for AEN students. Step 9: Withdrawal after January 31 forfeits the seat reservation fee; mid-year withdrawal incurs one month's fee per month of notice not given.

Waitlist Policy

ABS uses a waiting list rather than a pool system. When applications exceed available places at a grade level, applicants are listed in order of application date. Priority is determined by Admissions Department policies, with earliest applicants having the highest likelihood of entry as vacancies arise.

School Day

The school day begins around 8:00 AM and runs Sunday through Thursday. Primary has 7 periods; Middle School and IB College have 7–8 periods. After-school supervision and activities are available.

Student Life

House System

Students in the Middle Years and beyond are assigned to a Mentor Group and a House, with House activities and wellbeing programmes. There is also a Student Council and a Student Voice.

Uniform

All students wear a formal school uniform including a formal shirt and tie, with grey or charcoal trousers or a skirt. Shirts must be buttoned at the collar when wearing the tie. The PE kit is a black T-shirt with a house colour. Uniforms are sold at FORM & AL-UM on Taghreed Street, Sweifieh.

Mental wellbeing is supported through a dedicated Counselling and Wellbeing Department providing Psychological, Career, and University Counselling. Specialists are assigned by school phase: Sajidah Shamaileh (Primary), Hala Hamad (Middle Years), and Rasha Jazi (IB College). Three full-time University Counsellors are also on staff.
