Admissions Process

  1. 1Submit online application with AED 525 application fee (inclusive of VAT). 2. School reviews application and makes offer if a place is available. 3. If place is offered and accepted, pay registration deposit of 10% of total tuition fees (non-refundable but deductible from tuition). 4. Re-registration deposit of 5% of total tuition fees required annually to guarantee place for following year.

House System

AKIS uses a House Point System for students in K-8 with four houses: Falcons, Sharks, Camels, and Oryxes. Students wear house shirts on designated days.

Uniform

There is a school uniform policy. Incorrect uniforms incur a 2-point deduction from house points. Students also wear house shirts on designated house activity days.

Pastoral & Mental Health

AKIS provides mental wellbeing support through a School Guidance Counsellor offering confidential individual and group counselling on social, educational, developmental, emotional, and behavioral matters. The counsellor also handles crisis management, parental guidance, and supports integration of new students. On-site medical facilities with a full-time physician and nurses are also available.

Safeguarding & Child Protection

Safeguarding at AKIS is governed by the GEMS Safeguarding Policy, aligned with UAE laws including Wadeema's Law. A Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Deputy DSL are designated, with staff trained in safeguarding. Procedures cover disclosures, case management via the Guard system, escalation protocols, allegations against adults, whistleblowing, safer recruitment, and online safety.
